Google Gives $1.2 million Global Impact Award to Expand Veterans Program Vassar is Piloting with the Posse Foundation

Earlier this week in Washington, DC, President Hill participated in a Google event on higher education for veterans, at which Google announced a $1.2 million grant to the Posse Foundation for the Veterans Posse Program, which Vassar co-founded and began piloting this semester. Eleven veterans enrolled as a group -– a “posse” -- in this fall’s freshman class, with similar groups to join at least the next three classes.


Acclaimed Theater of War project will engage civilians, military personnel, and veterans through Sophocles tragedy, November 3, 2013, at the Chapel

Vassar will host the next Theater of War program on Sunday, November 3, 4:00-6:00pm in the Chapel, free to the public. This acclaimed project presents dramatic readings by top actors of the Greek tragedy Ajax to mixed military and civilian audiences, followed by panel and audience discussions on a variety of related social and psychological issues.

Clinical psychologist and author Kathleen Nadeau, an internationally recognized expert in the field of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) will discuss “ADHD Traits May Be Just What You Need to Succeed” on Thursday, October 24. A book signing will follow this 12th Annual Steven Hirsch ’71 and Susan Hirsch Disability Awareness Lecture.
