Dean of the College at Vassar

About the Dean of the College Office

Dean Christopher Roellke

Dean of the College Christopher F. Roellke is responsible for those offices which assist students with their academic and their non-academic lives at Vassar. The directory of offices that work in cooperation with the dean can help you find the appropriate resource to help solve your problem, or address campus concerns. The Dean of the College student interns are also available to hear any complaints you may have.

The Office of the Dean of the College was established in 1994 to provide a more comprehensive and integrated approach to student services, both academic and social. The dean of the college, Christopher F. Roellke, oversees and coordinates the activities of the dean of studies, the dean of students, administrative services that directly impact the quality of student life, and offices that support and facilitate extracurricular activities.

Committees »

Multi-constituency advisory committees work with the many offices under the Dean's oversight. These committees include faculty, students and administrators as well as the director of the office or service being advised. There are advisory committees for security, health and counseling, residential life, food service, student employment, buildings and grounds, and religious activities.

Student Interns

The Student Assistants to the Dean of the College act as liaisons between the student body and multiple areas of Vassar's administration. The Dean's assistants also sit on multiple campus advisory committees and work on special assignments throughout the academic year. Students with concerns, complaints, questions and suggestions pertaining to any issue within the campus community are encouraged to email the Dean's assistants or to stop by during their office hours.
